“Vaalai” appears as the radiant form of Brahmma Sakthi is in the penance of Siddhas. As a beautiful maiden she has the power to attract all the three worlds and the Siddhas of the world pray to her to attain nirvana. The Tamil poet Bharathiyar too refers to her as “Vaalai Kumariyadi Kannamma”. She is praised and prayed as Bagawathi in the region of Kerala. She is also known as Tripura Sundhari when she appears as a young lady and affectionately as “Bala” when she appears in the form of child. “Bala” is the one who appears in a new form as “Santhana Bagawathi” in our temple. She is the primary deity in our temple.

Since she is a combination of Sree Sulini Durga and Sree Bala, she has a soolam on her forehead. Like a child she is sucking her right hand middle finger and ring finger. Her left hand is holding the big toe of her left foot which has six fingers and is resting on a globe. She is two feet tall. Pulsating with sow: as the main mantra, she showers her blessings on devotees and also helps us to receive her blessings.

Sree Santhana Bagawathi who is the Mooladhara deity denotes manipoorakam. She brings to full force the powers of “Sree Prathyangira” SreeVarahi, Sree Chakra Nayaki, Sree Bala Murugan through Svadishthana, Manipura, Vishuddhi, Anahata, Ajna. As the central orchestrating force (Sukshma Sakthi), Sree Brahmma Sakthi has manifested in the form of Tripura Sundhari sitting on the Sahasrara or the Energy Centre on the Head.

SreeSanthanaBagawathi is constantly holding the hand of SreeBalaAmma with deep love and keeps moving within the temple. Their association has become close enough that one cannot see them as separate entities. So even when BalaAmma offers a few words during the normal courses of the day one can see the influence of SreeSanthanaBagawathi and those who have experienced this will stand testimony.
